How to Set OneDrive Files to On-Demand

By turn on OneDrive “Files On-Demand” settng to save space on your cloud computer and your local computers as well. When On-Demand is turned on then your files will be stored in the OneDrive cloud and not downloaded to your computer unless you opne them. You still see all your files with icons indicating if they are only on the OneDrive cloud or if they are stored on your computer and also on the OneDrive cloud.

Follow the steps below to turn on the On-Demand setting.

 

Open OneDrive Settings

In the lower right of your computer’s taskbar click on the OneDrive icon. Then click on the Settings icon in the upper right. Then click on Settings on the menu.

Turn on Files On-Demand

Then check the box that says “Save space and download files as you need them”
